Leamington Spa has a lovely ambience during the day, and good for shopping.
At night the scene completely changes, to partying students, some drunks, litter strewn pavements and bustops, noisy parties, especially at the weekends.
Having said that, I have seen worse areas.
There is also a very noticable divide between the affluent and Old Town poorer areas. Properties expensive.
Leamington is a lovely place to visit and to live. It has gracious, wide streets and some delightful Regency houses. The River Leam runs through the middle of town, on its way to Warwick, where it joins the Avon. The Grand Union canal passes through the Old Town, and carries narrow boats West towards Birmingham and East towards Oxford. There are pretty parks, an impressive floral display in June/July and the countryside is never far away.
